
Vernon Forrest was shot and killed during an apparent robbery
Former boxing champion Vernon "The Viper" Forrest was murdered last night in Atlanta, Georgia.The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that approximately 11p.m. last night Forest was putting air in his tires when he was robbed at gunpoint. Forrest, who also was carrying a gun, chased the robber into the street.Police say Forrest was then shot seven or eight times in the back. According to police, there is evidence that Forrest used his gun, but it is unknown if the suspect was also shot.The robbery was witnessed by an 11 year old boy. The boy is described to be the son of Forrest's girlfriend. Luckily, the boy was not physically harmed.Police noted that the 11 year old did not see the shooting take place.The police are now searching for the man who robbed and shot Vernon Forrest and a second suspect who left in a red Monte Carlo.
